About the Johnstown-Milliken Chamber of Commerce
"Where Marketing Comes First"
At the Chamber Board of Directors Retreat on January 28, 2008, one of the goals that the Board identified was “to consistently promote the Chamber image and the good things it does.” Since then, the Board has worked in conjunction with the Executive Directors to develop a “branding” mechanism for the Chamber. We determined what makes our Chamber different or unique. We developed a slogan that will set us apart from other Chambers. Not only that, but we will be consistently promoting this brand or image in everything we do (logo, website, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, benefit lists, emails, flyers, phone messages, etc.).
Mission Statement ...
The Johnstown-Milliken Chamber of Commerce will work to actively promote the growth and prosperity of Business, while serving and promoting the Communities.
Marketing Message ...
We want to be known as the Chamber that provides its member businesses and organizations with the marketing tools to succeed. With a strong, dynamic and prosperous business community, the Chamber leverages the resources and talents of its members to improve business and build stronger communities. Our target market is any business or organization in Johnstown, Milliken and the surrounding area that wants to promote itself in this area and invest in our communities.
Talking Logo ...
“We help provide our Chamber members with the marketing tools to succeed.” We use this when people ask us what we do, such as at networking events. It will elicit questions to further explain our passion. It gives us the opportunity to discuss the values that our Chamber offers its members (i.e., our benefit list) and explains that our member businesses have invested in the community through the Chamber.
Core Message ...
“Where Marketing Comes First.” Our Core Message is our “branding” that appears along with our logo on everything that comes in contact with our members or the public (website, emails, letterhead, envelopes, phone message, etc.). It means that we help our member businesses become successful so they can contribute to building a strong community. In other words, the Chamber enhances the talents and resources of its members to create a climate of growth and success in the community.

Be a part of the Community, as well as a member of the local business group! Through the Chamber you can meet your neighbors, make business contacts, and receive great values.
Monthly Meeting ...
The third Tuesday of each month is normally a members function. It likely will be a "business after hours" sponsored by a Chamber member. We also have other educational or networking events, such as the monthly Marketing Group and MasterMind Group meetings. Click on the Calendar tab for a current list of events.
Chamber Office ...
Check out the Chamber office at 112 E. S. First Street in Johnstown (just SE of the stoplight). The office is open Mondays from 1-5 pm; Tuesdays from 8 am - noon and 1 - 5 pm; Wednesdays from 1- 5 pm; Thursdays from 9 am - 5 pm; and Fridays from 10 am - 5 pm or by appointment by calling the office at 587-7042. The Visitor's Center displays member information and promotional items for the public. If you haven't yet provided your marketing information, please visit or call the office.
